A few samples of the Pole Decorations we have been looking at for mainstreet. We are looking at 5 different companies and will decide which company and snowflakes we will buy in January.

Dear Members of the Tekamah community, all Tekamah Organizations and Clubs,
The Tekamah Chamber of Commerce has been informed by the Tekamah City workers that this will be the last year we can use the present holiday decorations. The decorations are at least twenty years old and have had them refurbished. With this in mind, we have put together a committee to secure new holiday lights for downtown Tekamah.
We feel this needs to be a COMMUNITY EFFORT and are asking all organizations and clubs, as well as members of the community to combine their efforts to ensure that Tekamah has new holiday decorations by December 2010.
The committee has chosen a white light silhouette “Snowflake” theme and are hoping to choose three or four different snowflake styles. We have made arrangements with one of the companies we are looking at to have one of the snowflakes on display during this holiday season. It will be on display during and after the Chamber Holiday Open Houses. This will give everyone an opportunity to see what we are proposing to purchase. We will also have other examples on our chamber web site at tekamahchamberocommerce.com for your review.
The committee’s goal is to raise $10,000.00 in hopes of purchasing 28 pole decorations and hardware. The reason we have chosen to start working on this now is because of the price breaks we could receive if purchased after the first of the year. We feel that this is a great community project and that our whole community will enjoy and appreciate the efforts. On completion of this project, we know that it will be one that all who have participated in will be extremely proud of.
Please accept this letter as our invitation to you as community members, organizations and clubs to donate to this effort. The Tekamah Chamber of Commerce will be accepting the donations. You can send your donations to the Tekamah Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 231, Tekamah, Ne 68061. We will also have “good will” donation containers placed in many of our local businesses. Thank you in advance for your consideration in giving to the Tekamah Holiday Decoration Drive.
